Welcome to my website. My name is Paula and I qualified as a compassionate therapeutic counsellor in 2009. I have appointments available to work with anyone looking for support. I offer face to face, online or telephone appointments. As a therapist I'm passionate about counselling, supporting individuals and couples during challenging periods in their life or for personal development. I offer professional, affordable counselling therapy and a quality friendly service in a strictly confidential, safe, non-judgmental and supportive space where you can explore your feelings and emotions, which often brings a huge sense of relief. I believe it is important to find the "right" therapist "for you" as the therapeutic work together will impact on a successful outcome.
"The counselling process will help you to find out who you are as a person, separate from your family, partner and friends, what you need as an individual human being to feel fulfilled in life, find your sense of self and with that you can achieve anything!"
I am flexible and offer short term counselling, usually 6-12 sessions either weekly, twice weekly or fortnightly, depending on your preference, need and circumstances or long term therapy, day and evening appointments are also available depending on availability.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and strictly follow their code of ethics and remain committed to my continued professional counselling development; my work is supervised in accordance with BACP guidelines to ensure safe working therapeutic counselling practice. I have experience working in the NHS for 6 1/2 years in GP surgeries, 2 years as a volunteer for Swindon Wiltshire Alcohol & Drugs Service, therapist for Corporate Companies, Charities, Insurance Companies and my own Private Counselling Practice.
I am passionate about supporting and counselling client's by developing the therapeutic counselling relationship around a wide range of life's many challenges e.g. abuse, addiction - alcohol, over eating, drugs, gambling etc, anxiety, bereavement (including pet), depression, eating disorders, family difficulties, gender identity, lack of confidence, low mood, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, self-harm, sexuality, sexual problems, general life & work related stress, trauma, weight loss any problem or difficulty may be discussed in the strict confidence.
Confidential counselling, providing a safe, supportive therapeutic space in which you can begin to understand yourself better, gain new perspectives, enabling you to do things that initially you may have perceived as being impossible. Unfortunately my counselling is not suitable for clients with severe cognitive or learning difficulties, or severe speech and language problems.

Testimonials
“My time and journey with Paula has been hugely worthwhile. After experiencing sudden grief, I found myself very lost, unable to concentrate and losing sleep. I’m so glad I found the courage to make contact. I loved her website - what you see is what you get and more. From the very first contact Paula has been professional, a great communicator however her true gems are her listening and questioning skills. Paula has helped me find a way forwards, face and deal with fears and I’m proud to say I take more care of myself after our time together. Thank you, Paula, I’m confident I’m in a better phase because of you and I plan to keep in touch.”

"I learned that courage was not the absense of fear, but the triumph over it, the brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear"
